Hanieh Poursheikhali | Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Hanieh works with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, low mood, relationship difficulties and low self-esteem, including the physical symptoms that stress and anxiety can produce in the body.
She also supports people navigating immigration, cultural adjustment and significant life transitions. Rebuilding a life in a new country asks a great deal of a person, and much of it goes unspoken.
Her primary approach is Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), which works with the emotions underneath a difficulty rather than its surface. Where practical tools are what a client needs, she draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). In practice that means working collaboratively: exploring what sits beneath the presenting concern, identifying the patterns that keep repeating, and building both the self-awareness and the strategies that make change last.
Hanieh offers therapy in English and Farsi, in a space where clients can be understood in their own language and on their own terms.
Sessions are available in person and online. Hanieh is part of our therapy for adults team.
